Read MoreThe Ohio Sheep Improvement Association and Ohio Farm Bureau are co-hosting a sheep and agriculture tour to Argentina Oct. 19 – Nov. 2, 2019.
“This trip is for any farmer who is interested in learning about agricultural practices in a different country while also learning the traditions and culture of the region,” said Roger High, Ohio Farm Bureau director of livestock policy and executive director of the Ohio Sheep Improvement Association.
Transportation, lodging, tour admission and several meals are included as part of the two-week excursion. Agriculture-related tours include a large sheep flock, livestock market, grain farm, vineyard and winery as well as a fruit farm and olive plantation.
“It’s good for us as farmers to see what other countries are doing with agriculture practices and what rules and regulations they have to abide by,” High said.
Cultural experiences include a visit to the Mendoza Falls, a visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier and a tango show. A valid U.S. passport is required for the trip.
The flight is direct from Columbus to Buenos Aires. The total cost of the trip is approximately $6,500/person, High said, depending on the number of attendees.
