Crafting a business succession plan, or just a retirement plan, can be daunting. Navigating the best way to protect families and businesses from unnecessary financial risk can be confusing. No matter how successful a business is or what stage of life a person is in, no one is immune to financial stress.

Ohio Farm Bureau Financial Essentials aims to alleviate concerns through a series of workshops and online resources developed to help answer important financial questions. In collaboration with Nationwide, Farm Credit Mid-America, Wright & Moore Law and others, these resources can help guide the path to financial security for a family, farm and business.

The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
