2024 Champaign County Proposed Policies

We encourage our members to join us for our Annual Meeting on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024.

Below are the proposed policies for local, state, and national levels.

Local: 

  1. We support our farmers maintaining clear site lines when planting near intersections and if not maintained, to be billed for removing obstruction. 

State: 

  1. We support farmer participation in the USDA CAN program to alleviate food insecurities in our local communities. 
  2. We support transitioning to permanent funding from year to year for the USDA’s CAN program.

  4. We support legislation that would require any entity buying farmland or agriculture related processing facilities to be majority owned by American citizens. 

National:
