Leah Curtis, associate general counsel

Leah Curtis of Canal Winchester has been named associate general counsel for Ohio Farm Bureau. In her new role, she will continue to advise the Public Policy Department regarding legislative and regulatory initiatives and manage legal advocacy for the organization to provide strategic leadership on legal issues affecting OFBF members.

Curtis has served Ohio Farm Bureau in various legal roles since 2010 when she began her career as a legal research intern. She has worked extensively in defending and sharing information about Ohio’s property tax and Current Agricultural Use Value program, and she also co-hosts the OFBF Podcast “Legal with Leah.” Through “Legal with Leah” and other platforms, Curtis works to provide legal information to members on issues impacting their farms and businesses.

In addition, she manages the member engagement team to help Farm Bureau members navigate issues such as animal care, food safety, energy and more.

Curtis was raised on a family farm in Jefferson County and has a long family history with Farm Bureau, including serving as a youth trustee on the Jefferson County Farm Bureau Board of Trustees when she was a teenager. 

She holds a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree in public policy and a Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University. Currently she resides in Franklin County with her husband, Ryan Curtis, and their three children.
