On March 3, 2025, the Highland County Farm Bureau held its 2025 Policy Development Meeting, bringing together 17 attendees to discuss key agricultural and rural issues impacting the community. Topics included supporting an updated mass notification system for the county and addressing low-hanging telephone wires that hinder farm equipment movement. Concerns were raised about the rising deer population and the need for increased hunting opportunities. Attendees also discussed the potential for grazing livestock on solar fields and broader energy production topics. County commissioners joined the conversation, highlighting economic and career development initiatives.
