The James H. Johnson Scholarship Fund was established in 1998 by the Marion County Farm Bureau Board of Trustees in honor of James H. Johnson, Marion county farmer and fire fighter. Mr. Johnson worked hard for years to further Farm Bureau. He gave unselfishly of himself to his family, neighbors and friends. He was taken from the community prematurely in a rescue operation.
The objective of this scholarship fund is to support and further the education of Marion County High School graduates. Applicants may be high school seniors, current college or graduate school students. Up to three scholarships of $500 will be awarded annually.
My first recommendation in your journey is to start out with a local farming friend or mentor along with joining an organization like Ohio Farm Bureau.

Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.
So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
