Farm Bureau Scholarship

This unique scholarship is sponsored by Muskingum County Farm Bureau and Boyer Insurance.

This opportunity is for anyone who has an interest in agriculture and would like to learn more about opportunities within the industry. This scholarship experience gives the participant the opportunity to shadow leaders, make connections, and learn jobs in the industry. After completing the two-day experience, the participant will receive a $1,500 scholarship.

Did you know that 1 in every 8 jobs in Ohio is related to agriculture? There are so many agriculture specialties beyond farming. This opportunity will provide exposure to many of those agriculture careers by allowing the participant to spend a few hours in the day-to-day operations of these careers as well as connect with leaders in the industry which could be advantageous in the future. A daily schedule will be provided for the two-day time frame of the scholarship experience.

The applicant must be a senior at a Muskingum County High School or be homeschooled in Muskingum County and be enrolled in a postsecondary education program including, a 2 or 4 year degree program, certificate program, trade school program, or licensing program.

The scholarship deadline is April 4, 2025.

For more details, see the Muskingum Co. Scholarship App. 2025.

My first recommendation in your journey is to start out with a local farming friend or mentor along with joining an organization like Ohio Farm Bureau.

New and beginning farmers
We’re just so thankful for the Farm Bureau and the foundation for helping put this together. And of course, the Boyert family for the vision they had with this grant. It’s jumping us forward 10 years. It’s unbelievable.

Youth pathways in Farm Bureau
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Giving farmers a voice
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
