Rural Ohio

Olilvia RinesmithOlivia Rinesmith has joined the Central Ohio Farm Bureau team as our membership and marketing intern. She is a junior at The Ohio State University studying agricultural communications and production agriculture. Her background in agriculture is very strong. Her family has been Madison County Farm Bureau members for many generations.

Growing up, Olivia was involved in 4-H and FFA where she raised lambs and held multiple leadership positions. She currently serves as the 2021-2022 Ohio Lamb and Wool Ambassador and is a member of the Ohio State Livestock Judging Team. She is excited to begin this journey with Farm Bureau to improve and maintain membership while educating what this organization is all about.

Krista StradleyI’m Krista Stradley and I recently joined Central Ohio Farm Bureau as the marketing and media associate. I hold a business degree from The Ohio State University and a culinary degree from Alamance Community College in Graham, NC. My husband, Lee, and I have been married for 20 years, and we have two teenage sons and three cats. I enjoy hiking, cooking, beekeeping and reading in my spare time and am very excited about my future at Central Ohio Farm Bureaus.

My first recommendation in your journey is to start out with a local farming friend or mentor along with joining an organization like Ohio Farm Bureau.

New and beginning farmers
We’re just so thankful for the Farm Bureau and the foundation for helping put this together. And of course, the Boyert family for the vision they had with this grant. It’s jumping us forward 10 years. It’s unbelievable.

Bringing the farm back to life
It wasn’t until I joined the Wilmington College Collegiate Farm Bureau that I truly saw how my passion could translate into leadership, advocacy and a career.

Youth pathways in Farm Bureau
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Giving farmers a voice
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
