BCFB donated packages of sausage

Five buyers purchased market hogs at during the Belmont County Jr. Fair this past September to be donated back to Belmont County Farm Bureau. Those buyers were T.J. Jefferis, Buckeye Steel Inc., Bridgeport Equipment, EQT Corporation and State Rep. Don Jones. Also J-Mo Meats, Barnesville helped with the processing cost.

Consequently, a total of 800 pounds of pork were donated to nine area food banks and delivered by Devin Cain, Belmont County Farm Bureau program coordinator.

Food banks receiving the packages of pork:

  • Daily Bread Center in Martins Ferry
  • Barnesville Thrift Store/Saint Vincent De Paul Society of Barnesville
  • First Christian Church Five Loaves Food Pantry in Barnesville
  • Bridgeport Christian Friendship Council of Churches Food Pantry
  • Frances Cabrini Catholic Church of Colerain
  • Bellaire Salvation Army
  • Shadyside Fellowship UMC Pantry
  • St Clairsville Council of Churches Food Pantry
  • Flushing Ministerial Association Pantry
