Strolling the fields for treasures, clarity
Walking these fields reminds me that there is always value in searching for the unknown and unexpected.
Read MoreFirefighters are invited to join us on Oct. 22,2024 at 6 p.m. at the Rome Fire Department, 3162 US Highway 6, Rome, OH 44085 for Grain Bin Rescue Training taught by National Education Center of Agricultural Safety. This training is made possible by the generous support of Mark Bruns Agency, Nationwide, and Ashtabula County Farm Bureau.
During this training, firefighters will learn the main cause of grain engulfments and will be instructed on how to safely enter into a grain bin to perform a grain bin rescue. They will learn safety around grain and grain storage facilities, lock-out tag-out procedures, treating a patient with crushing injuries, use of the grain rescue tube, and how to make cuts into the grain bin panel for full engulfment rescue. The program allows several engagements with the grain bin rescue simulator dealing with both partial engulfment and full engulfments.
Cost: Free (includes dinner)
