Sarah Huffman, executive director of the Office of Farmland Preservation with the Ohio Department of Agriculture, was the keynote speaker for the event. Huffman is responsible for overseeing the state’s efforts to partner with landowners, local government, Soil and Water Conservation Districts and land trusts to permanently preserve Ohio farms in agricultural production, strengthening Ohio’s No. 1 industry, food and agriculture.
Connie Skinner of Delaware County was this year’s honoree. A dedicated Farm Bureau member and volunteer, Skinner has been instrumental in many projects the county has done over the years, including involvement with the Delaware County Hunger Alliance, Benefit in the Barn and the county fair. She was very excited and grateful for the nomination and recognition.
