Newly elected Congressman David Taylor sat down with farmers and agricultural leaders from Adams, Brown and Clermont counties Feb. 20, 2025, at the Brown County Fairgrounds. As a member of the House Committee on Agriculture, Taylor took the opportunity to hear directly from local producers about the challenges and opportunities facing the region’s agricultural industry.
This roundtable discussion brought together 34 community leaders, including representatives from OSU Extension, local Soil and Water Conservation District offices, the county auditor and treasurer offices, and Jack Irvin from Ohio Farm Bureau’s policy team. Discussions covered a range of topics, including the upcoming farm bill, the sustainability of family farms, and the need for greater transparency across multiple facets of government. Attendees also expressed interest in the positive expansion of ethanol and its impact on rural economies.
Taylor reaffirmed his commitment to supporting agriculture and ensuring farmers have the tools they need to thrive. We appreciate his time and willingness to engage with our local farming community and look forward to working together to strengthen Ohio agriculture.
