Our Next Group Spotlight is….Western Reserve Land Conservancy
Western Reserve Land Conservancy is dedicated to providing the people of their region with essential natural assets through land conservation and restoration. Created in 2006 by the largest merger of land trusts in the United States, with eight northern Ohio trusts joining forces to form a private, nonprofit conservation organization. It then grew again by merging with Grand River Partners, Waite Hill Land Conservancy, and Little Beaver Creek Land Foundation. Today there are 13 organizations and includes 28 counties.
The people in the Western Reserve Organization are conservationists, urban planners, biologists, lawyers, communicators, real estate professionals, fundraisers, and public policy experts. This setup has given them the team they need to conserve, sustain, and develop land for the betterment of the community, as well as educate the public on the importance of conservation and sustainability. They have created a place with stunning views, clean rivers and lakes, miles, and miles of connected trails for hiking, biking, skiing, and horseback riding, and a safe Great Lake, for swimming, fishing, and boating.
Take a moment to learn more about their conservation efforts, how they connect the public to their efforts and sustain and protect the land by visiting their website, following them on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, or watching them in action on their YouTube channel.
