Crawford Marion Morrow and Richland counties Ohio

Kari CarterThe Crawford, Marion, Morrow, and Richland County Farm Bureau Summer Intern is Kari Carter. Carter is an upcoming sophomore at Wilmington College majoring in ag business with minors in business administration and accounting. At Wilmington she is involved in Gamma Beta Eta Lil Sis Sorority, Aggies Club and Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow Club.

Carter is from Marion County where she graduated from River Valley and Tri-Rivers Career Center in 2024. During high school, she was heavily involved in 4-H and FFA, holding various leadership positions in both organizations. At the county fair she showed market beef steers. Carter grew up in Farm Bureau going to events with her father, Scott Carter, who was a former Marion County Farm Bureau president. As she grew, she fell in love with this organization and was so excited to learn about the internship position for the summer.

Some of her responsibilities as an intern will include promoting membership, aiding in the coordination of events and helping to inform the public on agricultural-related topics.

“I am so excited about this internship and to be able to help an organization that raised me. I am looking forward to learning more about Farm Bureau, planning and executing events and meeting members from every county,” said Carter.

Welcome, Kari!

To grow a network and gain perspective and knowledge in the industry through personal and professional development has been invaluable. Every day I learn and grow.

Farm Bureau connections
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Farm Bureau involvement
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
